HARDWARE ENVIRONMENT FOR ARRANGING COMPUTER-AIDED CONTROL OF 10 kV POWER
DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS BASED ON LOAD INTERRUPTER SWITCHES AND RECLOSERS

The proposed solutions make it possible to implement the Smart Grid concept for 10 kV power distribution networks and monitor and
control thereof from dispatching stations.

Hardware environment

• КСО-1-БЭМН one-side service collection chambers;
• РВ-БЭМН vacuum recloser;
• ВН-БЭМН intelligent load interrupter (disconnecting switch) procures electric power distribution, network monitoring, telemetered
data communication to a top level (to a dispatcher of a power supply region), accepts and executes dispatcher’s control orders.


   Purpose


For accepting and distributing three-phase current with frequency 50 Hz and
10 kV rated voltage for the networks with a neutral insulated or grounded via an
arcing ground suppressor or a resistor.

   Field of application

Closed distributing gears of transformer substations and distributing points.

   Design

Major elements of КСО-1-БЭМН are chambers of the input/outgoing line,
section switch, tie isolator. If required КСО-1-БЭМН may be completed with
a voltage transformer, auxiliary transformer, current transformer. The chambers
have switching unit bays (load-break or interrupter), collector bus bars, of
auxiliary equipment.

   
  
  Features

Load currents of the main circuits are switched by a load-break switch with
a vacuum arc suppressing chamber and a spring-motor drive. Owing to the
design of the contacts and using vacuum as arc suppressing medium there
is procured a comparatively high switching and mechanical wearability when
switching load currents.
For communicating with a diapatching center, telemetry data communication
and for accepting control commands КСО-1-БЭМН is completed with a transformer
substation remote control unit (УДУ ТП). The Cabinet has a backup
power supply for procuring monitoring and control of the facilities in emergency
modes of operation when voltage fails.
КСО-1-БЭМН is completed with control units bearing the operative and
protective logic, with ИВН-10М high voltage indicators.
By means of the power supply unit and battery installed in the Cabinet at least
20 operations are procured within at least 2 hours.
For arranging a transformer substation teleautomation system and performing
the remote control function within the framework of a computer-aided control
system the Cabinet may be equipped with a programmable logic controller-concentrator
and with facilities for arranging communication with a dispatching
station (GSM router).
