   Purpose
For accepting and distributing three-phase alternating current electric power
with 50 Hz frequency and 6(10) kV voltage in closed distribution facilities of
industrial and power plants in the networks with a neutral insulated or grounded
via an arcing ground suppressor or a resistor.
The cabinet is metal structure with riveted bonds. The jacket and partitions
between sections are manufactured of zink-coated steel sheets.
The cabinets of К-БЭМН switchgear and control gear are made suitable for
servicing from one and two sides
The switchgear and control gear cabinet with a vacuum circuit breaker (ШВВ)
is conventionally divided into bays (Fig. on page 23): a busbar bay (А); input and
cable junction bay (С); drawout element bay (В); a bay for auxiliary circuits and
relay protection devices (D).
Bays В, С, D are equipped with individual locked doors.
The auxiliary circuit bay (D) is intended for locating measurement instruments,
protection, control, signaling devices.
The busbar bay (А) locates backbone buses and switchgear and control gear
cabinet diverging branch lines. Access to the bay is through dismountable top
panels of the switchgear and control gear cabinets. For connecting to busbars
of an adjoining cabinet the buses are led via lead-in insulators.
The drawout element in bay (В) has 2 major positions — operating, control and
supplementary (maintenance) ones. The latter is located outside the cabinet on a
service trolley. The displacements from one position to another are done manually.
Irregular actions are protected by mechanical and electromagnetic means.
The holes of the lead-in insulators in the drawnout element bay when it is displaced
from one position to another are automatically closed with curtains. The curtains bear
signs warning of high voltage and equipped with eyes for locking with a padlock.
All switchgear and control gear cabinets (save the one for auxiliary circuits)
are equipped with pressure release valves and arc protection sensors.

1 Where a wire-way is available over the relay protection bay the switchgear and control gear cabinet height is equal to 2420 mm.
2 Where a bussed connection is available from the back wall side the depth of the switchgear and control gear cabinet depth is increased by 400 mm.
     The environment should not be explosion hazardous and should contain current-containing dust, aggressive gases in the concentrations
reducing an insulation level within prohibitive limits.
